Holi Festival of Colours Dhulendi – Dhuriyo

Dhuli Vandan, Holashtak – Holika Dahan  

A festival when people sprinkle red powder in sport and light fires.

What is Holi होली?
The festival of the colours is called Holi. Celebrations are ever lasting one.
It’s one of the most popular annual festival. Chhoti & Bari Holi is there.
It occurs in the Phalgun Masa. During month of February or March.
It symbolizes victory of truth over evil. Victory of Righteousness.

“It is celebrated on the Purnima of Phalgun. Old grudges and differences are
forgotten. In the evening there is singing and dancing around the Holika bonfire. The
following day, people have fun with ambir-gulal, applying the coloured powders to each other.”

“The Chhoti Holi Puja: On an auspicious day about 15 days before Holi, people
prepare the budkulla – a string of toys…”

Holi, Holaa, Holaakaa, Holikaa, Holi-Khelanaa, Holashtak, Dhuriyo होलाका, होलिका?

“The spring-festival celebrated at the approach of the spring season during the ten –
but particularly three or four days the full-moon day in the month of Phalguna
(commonly called Holi).”
‘The full moon day in the month of Phaalguna.’

“The Holi festival (also applied to a Rakshasi worshipped at it.”

Can we perform Purnima vrat katha prayers on The full moon day in the month of Phaalguna Masa (Poornima tithi nirnaya)?
Purnima tithi niranaya has been described since years.
Purnima puja takes place on the full-moon day.
Accordingly, yes, one can perform prayers.

Holi is dedicated to Bhagat Prahalad, Hiranyakashyap & his sister’s boon.
Prahlad was saved by Bhagwan.

‘Raksha kar Prahalad bachaayo, Hiranyakashyap ko swarga pathaayo.’

(Durga Chaalisaa).

Holi-khelanaa: “the frolicks practiced at the Holi festival.”

Holaashtak significance होलाष्टक:
‘Holaa’ is described above a Holi festival in Basant (spring) Falgun.
And ‘Ashtak’ is The eight tithis (i.e. 8 days) in Bright fortnight.
These eight tithis occurs in the Phalgun Masa Shukla (Falgun).
In the Phalguna Masam ‘Ashtami thithi’ Holashtak starts.
And on the day of ‘Paurnima tithi Ashtak of Holi ends’.
The Following day of the Holashtak is Rang Holi.

Chharendi-Dhoolendi-Dhoolivandan-Dhooriyo
Vasant Utsav – Falgun Utsav Falguni!

Dhuriyo धूड़ियो: ”Dhur means dust.”
The Dhuriyo means, “A dust storm”.
The last day of the Holi parva.
It is the next day of Ashtak.
Sindhis celebrate Dhooriyo.

Barsana Lathmar Holi in which ladies beat the men with wooden sticks, it.
It’s being celebrated in Nandgaon.
It’s an Holi celebrated in Punjab as Hola mohalla.
Basant Utsav is being celebrated to welcome the Basant Ritu (spring season).
It’s Vasantosava, Kaamotsava during vasant ritu. Holi played also with flowers.
Ancient Holi not only used fresh rose flowers but also rose, tesu flowers for organic water colours.
