What is full moon?
Full Moon is shinning between Sunset and Sunrise.
When the whole of the moon’s visible surface is lit up.
And appears as a disk in the night sky.
And unlike other phases of a moon, it is in the night sky (sunset to sunrise).
What is called Puran पूर्ण?
Sanskrit word meaning, “Full, Full of, Filled, filled with, entire,
whole, completed; perfect; filled, complete” .
“A title for the Deity all-pervading or Perfect”.
Prayer and fast is observed for ‘Him’.

What is ‘Purnima or Puranmasi’,‘Purnima-ratri’ ‘पूर्णिमा, पूर्णमासी’ ‘पूर्णिमा– रात्रि’ क्या है? and Satyanarayan Vrat’?
“The day or night of full moon”.
It is a Sanskrit word Purnama (Pūrna-mā) meaning.
This vrat (fast and prayers) puja is dedicated to Sri Narayan Hari.
He also is called Satyanarayan – Satyadev, Puran-Paramatma.
‘पूर्णिमा– रात्रि’ Purnima-ratri (Pūrnimā-rātri) means,
“the night of full moon”.
When a ‘Purnima vrat tithi’ and ‘Satyanarayan’ occurs & its significance? Which is vrat puja on purnima?
‘पूर्णिमा, पूर्णमासी’ कब होती है?
‘Purnima vrat’ occurs on ‘fifteenth tithi’ Shukla.
‘15th lunar day’ of bright half ‘occurs once in a month’.
- ‘15th Tithi’ is throughout the day and night. Fast is observed.
- When 15th tithi is ‘uday vyapni’ i.e. it starts from Sun Rise. Fast is observed.
Both observances have their own significance for fast and prayers; including tithi’s other +variations.
‘Satyanarayan Vrat Pooja’ and ‘Satynarayan Katha’ is performed on the Puran Chandra.

+ the tithi when is reduced (small) ‘Khaya tithi’ i.e. two tithis occur; and when the tithi is enlarged ‘Vriddhi tithi’ occurs, then the Purnima, Satyanarayan vrat date is accordingly considered as per the tithi prevails.
What is Sarad Chandra (Sarat), Sarad-triyama?
Sarad Chandra is “an autumnal moon”.
Sarad-triyama (Sharad-triyama) is, “an autumnal night”.
What is Sarat-Parvan (Sarat Utsav-Festival)?
Sarad is the ‘time or season of autumn’.
Shard-Parvan (Festival Night) is “An autumnal ‘full-moon night’.”
