When sugna सुग॒नsugna yog’ सुग॒न योग occurs?
Which are the four nakshatras of Sugna Yog?

Presence of the Sugna nakshatra at baby birth time.

Sugna nakshatra yog has an significance to check at the time of birth of a baby
It’s also called sugna or pava (paavaa). And its prayers are being called ‘Pava Pujan’.
And sugna puja (prayers for related four nakshatram, while same nakshatra falls on a day).
Sughna yog occurs on any of the day when among the four nakshatra, any one is present.


The four nakshatra of the sugna is

Ashlesha-Nakshatra
1. Ashlesha Nakshatra (Ashlesha

Any Hindu Calendar, Sindhi Hindu Panchangam or Sindhi Tipno,
The Consideration of each new day is with the Sun-rise.
It’s one of the crucial point about its start-end timings.
Each nakshatram has the four quadrants (4 parts).
And effect of each nakshatra & its quarter is there.
The Nakshatra Shanti pooja is being performed.
Prayers are conducted once same nakshatram
appears on the 27 or 28 day after child’s birth.

Who observes it?
It’s an astrological observance.
One aspect of it is an astrological and another is traditional & customary.
As per the Astrology it is being checked based on a nakshatra, a star at birth of a baby.
The Sindhi community observes the ‘Sugna Yog’.
The baby born in the family they observe Sugna Puja for their new born.
In the absence of such yog, no prayers are being required.
Whereas, when any of the ‘sugna’ nakshatra on any day is present, then it is prayed.
Further step is for its prayers (Sugna Shanti Puja or Pava Pujanu) to be carried out.

What is called ‘vela’ or ‘velaa’, ‘Shubh Vela Disanu’?

In the absence of above said four 4 sugna nakshatras and yamghant seven 7 nakshatras, it is called the ‘Shubh Vela’, auspicious time birth of an infant (newly born baby). vela is a time; (i.e. At the birth time of the baby – new born, when yamghant-yog यमघण्ट योग and also sugna- yog सुग॒न योग are not there & the other planets are also good for new born, infant. Furthermore, also to check if there is ‘Ganda-Moola yog nakshatram’ गंडमूल योग, because some nakshatras of sugna , yamghant, ganda moola yoga are same nakshatram. After checking thoroughly, then only finally it’s treated an auspicious time in the presence of good timings and yoga.
