What is the meaning of Chaliho (Chaaliho)?
“Forty days fast /
worship or religious observation.”

What is its significance?
When the Chaliho (Lal jo Chaliho) starts?
It is an annual observance devoted to the Lalsai.
In the ‘Aakhaad Mahino’ (Ashaadh Masa) when
the ‘Surj’ (Surya) enters in the Kark-Sankranti,
from that day onwards Chaliho Sahib starts.
Its fast is being observed for forty 40 days.
The ocassion is followed with festivities.
The Jhulelal followers celebrate it.

When is the Puj Chaliho (Lal jo Chaliho) in 2020 begins and ends?
In 2020, Chaliha Saheb vrat pooja fasting begins from 16 July.
In 2020, Puj Chaliho vrat prayers ends on the 40^th day counting from 16^th July.

लाल साईंअ जो चालीहो

श्री वरुणदेव का मन्त्र व विधि -विधान​
ॐ वरुणस्योत्तंभनमसि वरुणस्य स्कंभ सर्जनीस्थो ।
वरुणस्य ऋतसदन्यसि वरुणस्य ऋतसदनमसि वरुणस्य ऋतसदनमासीद ॥
॥ ॐ श्री वरुणाय नमः ॥

चालीहो
“आख़ाड़ जे महिने में सिज़ जंहिं डी॒हुं कर्क संक्रान्तिअ में अचे
तंहिं डी॒हं खां वठी लाल जो चालीहो शुरु कबो आहे ।”

“آکاڙ جي مهني ۾ سِج جنهن ڏِيِنهُن ڪَرڪَ سنڪرانتيِ ۾ اَچي تنهن ڏِيِنهن کان وٺيِ لال جو چاليهو شروح ڪبو آهي.”
